Ramadan Reel Competition
Organised by South Lakes Islamic Centre


1. Promoter

This competition is organised and run by South Lakes Islamic Centre (“SLIC”).

This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, TikTok, Meta, or LaunchGood.


2. Competition Period

The competition runs from the start of the Last 10 Nights of Ramadan 1447H and closes at 11:59 PM (UK time) on 21 March 2026.

Entries posted after this time will not be considered.


3. Eligibility

  • Open to UK residents aged 16 or over.
  • Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
  • Participants must have a public TikTok or Instagram account during the competition period and at the time of judging.
  • Participants must follow @South.Lakes.Islamic.centre.

Private accounts cannot be verified and will not be considered valid.


4. How to Enter

To enter, participants must:

  1. Create an original TikTok or Instagram Reel promoting the South Lakes Islamic Centre masjid project.
  2. Encourage viewers to donate using the official fundraising page:
    launchgood.com/southlakesislamiccentreParticipants may also create their own personal fundraising page through:
    launchgood.com/firstmasjid and encourage viewers to donate using their unique link. Participants creating personal fundraising pages must ensure all fundraising activity is conducted respectfully and in line with the purpose of supporting the South Lakes Islamic Centre project.
  3. Tag @South.Lakes.Islamic.centre in the post.
  4. Include the hashtag #FirstMasjid.
  5. Follow the official account.
  6. Ensure the account is public during the competition period and at the time of judging.

Each valid video post counts as one entry, and participants may submit multiple entries.


5. Prize

Two winners will each receive:

One free Umrah ticket

A total of two Umrah tickets will be awarded.

Travel details, dates, and arrangements will be organised with the winners after the competition.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise determined by the Promoter.


6. Winner Selection

The two videos with the highest verified engagement (viral videos) at the competition closing time will win.

Engagement may include:

  • Views
  • Likes
  • Shares
  • Comments

South Lakes Islamic Centre reserves the right to verify engagement authenticity.

Engagement Authenticity Clause:
Entries may be disqualified if they are found to have used artificial methods to increase engagement, including but not limited to:

  • Purchased views, likes, or comments
  • Engagement pods or automated services
  • Bots or fake accounts
  • Any other activity intended to manipulate platform algorithms

If suspicious activity is detected, the Promoter reserves the right to remove the entry from the competition and select an alternative winner. The Promoter’s decision regarding engagement authenticity is final.


7. Winner Notification

Winners will be contacted via direct message from the official account @South.Lakes.Islamic.centre.

Winners must respond within 48 hours to claim their prize.

If a winner does not respond within this time, the Promoter reserves the right to select another eligible entry.


8. Content Requirements

Entries must:

  • Be original content created by the participant
  • Promote the South Lakes Islamic Centre masjid project respectfully
  • Not contain offensive, harmful, or misleading material

The Promoter reserves the right to remove or disqualify inappropriate entries.


9. Publicity

By entering the competition, participants grant South Lakes Islamic Centre permission to:

  • Repost or share their content on official channels
  • Use their video for promotional or fundraising purposes
  • Feature the entry in marketing materials

Credit will be given where possible.


10. Liability

South Lakes Islamic Centre is not responsible for:

  • Technical issues with social media platforms
  • Entries not visible due to privacy settings
  • Platform outages or algorithm changes
  • Travel disruptions outside the Promoter’s control

12. Data Protection

Any personal information provided will only be used for administering the competition and arranging the prize in accordance with UK data protection laws.


13. Governing Law

This competition is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
